Sights & Sounds: The Mercy House Brings Back-to-School Joy to Hundreds of Families
Hundreds of students are beginning the new school year well-equipped through The Mercy House’s annual Back-to-School Giveaway. From August 18 to 20, families visited its Newark, Jersey City, and Elizabeth locations to pick up backpacks filled with notebooks, pencils, and other classroom essentials. The delighted families were also treated to ice cream and other refreshments after receiving their supplies.

The Mercy House regularly provides nonperishable food, clothing, baby supplies, furniture and help finding work and housing for anyone in need. Its three locations in Essex, Hudson and Union counties serve approximately 300 people each week. For more information, visit www.rcan.org/mercy-house.
