Priests in the Archdiocese of Newark celebrate 2026 Jubilees
The Archdiocese of Newark is pleased to recognize 51 of its priests who are celebrating milestone anniversaries in 2026. Together, these men have over 2,490 years of service to the Lord and His people.
During last year’s Jubilee for Priests, Pope Leo XIV spoke about priesthood, reflecting on the words of Jesus, “I have called you friends” (Jn 15:15), calling them “a real key to the meaning of our priestly ministry.” The pope continued:
“The priest is a friend of the Lord, called to a personal and trusting relationship with him, nourished by the word, the celebration of the sacraments, and daily prayer. Friendship with Christ is the spiritual foundation of the ordained ministry, the ultimate reason for our celibacy and the source of our daily commitment to the service of the ecclesial community. It sustains us in times of trial and enables us to renew each day the ‘yes’ we said to the Lord at the beginning of our vocation.”
We are grateful for these men and for all the clergy in the Archdiocese of Newark who continue to say “yes” to Jesus, dedicating their lives to sharing His love and friendship with the world.
