Sights & Sounds: Cycling for Christ

If you live in Union County and attended a Good Friday afternoon service at your parish, you may have noticed a group of cyclists stopping to pray at your church.

Cyclists for Christ is a group of friends whose love for cycling is only matched by their passion for the faith. Each year on Good Friday, they observe the Stations of the Cross in a most unusual and challenging way — visiting one Catholic church for each station. The physical and spiritual demands are a truly fitting way to share Jesus’ journey to Golgotha.

This year’s bicycle pilgrimage took seven Cyclists for Christ on a 32-mile trek to 14 churches of the Archdiocese of Newark in Union Country. Watch the video below to learn more.

Each week, Jersey Catholic features the rich and inspiring “Sights & Sounds” of the Archdiocese of Newark. Visit us regularly to explore our vibrant parishes, sacred artworks, historic landmarks, and the faithful men, women and youth who bring our Catholic community to life.
