From the Archives: Filipina Nurses Perform Dance of Lights
As part of the Newark-Essex District Council of Catholic Women meeting at St. Patrick’s Pro-Cathedral in Newark, four Filipina nurses perform the Pandanggo sa Ilaw (“Dance of Lights”), a traditional folk dance in which lighted candles are balanced to simulate fireflies at night.
