The Mercy House celebrates Father’s Day (Video)
The Archdiocese of Newark’s Mercy House celebrated Father’s Day by distributing more than 200 gift bags to fathers and their loved ones at its three locations — Jersey City on June 9, Newark on June 10 and Elizabeth on June 11.
Each site distributed over 70 gift bags filled with men’s grooming products, clothing, candy and other treats. Special raffle prizes such were also awarded. All items were generously donated by parishes throughout the Archdiocese. The Felician Sisters of Lodi volunteered their time to assemble the bags.
“We brought our Father’s Day Giveaway back for another year because fathers are a crucial part of our community who deserve to be honored,” said Cheryl A. Riley, director of The Mercy House. “With these gift bags, we hope to show our appreciation for the many sacrifices they make to help support their families. We want them to know we’re always here to assist whenever they need us.”
