Sights & Sounds: Blessing of the Animals
In celebration of the Memorial of St. Francis of Assisi parishes across the Archdiocese of Newark gathered for the beloved Blessing of the Animals, a tradition that honors the patron saint of animals and the environment.
Held around the feast day of St. Francis on October 4, the event invites families to bring their beloved pets to receive a special blessing with holy water. The celebration highlights the beauty of God’s creation and the special bond we share with our animal companions.
