Obituaries for March 2026

Let us pray for our dearly departed clergy and religious whose Masses of Christian Burial were held in March.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord,

Sister Jo Ann Bromley, SC

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on March 11 at Holy Family Chapel in Convent Station, NJ, for Sister Jo Ann Bromley, formerly Sister Teresa Joseph. She died on March 7 at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Paterson. Sister Jo Ann was 89.

Born on Dec. 9, 1936, in Newark, NJ, she was the daughter of James and Josephine (Heft) Bromley. Sister Jo Ann entered the Sisters of Charity of St. Elizabeth in 1955 and was a member for 70 years.

After graduating with a BS degree in elementary education from the College of St. Elizabeth in Convent Station, she pursued an MA in education administration and supervision at Seton Hall University in South Orange. She also studied at Mundelein College in Chicago, IL, and Montclair State College in Montclair.

Sister Jo Ann served as a teacher at Holy Cross School in Harrison and St. Joseph’s Elementary School in Paterson, and as principal of St. Joseph Elementary School, Paterson, and St. Michael’s School in Newark.

Later, changing ministries, Sister Jo Ann became the administrator of Mother Seton Manor in Montclair and Caritas Community in Jersey City, both residences for retired Sisters of Charity. She also served for many years as the administrator of St. Andrew Villa in Paramus, NJ, where she continued to serve the elderly.  She also served as coordinator of volunteers at St. Vincent Nursing Home (now Complete Care at St. Vincent’s) in Cedar Grove.

Sister Jo Ann was predeceased by her parents James and Josephine, her brothers Joseph, Edward, Thomas, William, and Harvey Anderson, and by her sister, Jeanne Steinberg. She is survived by her sister Barbara Osborne, and many loving family members, including nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and cousins.

Sister Joan Davis, CSJP

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on March 6 at Saint Michael Villa in Englewood Cliffs, NJ for Sister Joan Davis, CSJP. She died peacefully at Sant Michael Villa on March 3. Sister Joan was 90.

Born on May 23, 1935, in Jersey City, NJ, to the late William Davis and Bridget Kenny, Sister Joan entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Peace on September 12, 1953, and pronounced final vows there in 1959.

Sister Joan graduated from Seton Hall University, NJ in 1966 with a BA in Elementary Education. During a life dedicated to education ministry, she taught at Saint Luke’s School in Ho Ho Kus; Our Lady of Mercy in Whippany; Saint Genevieve’s, Van Nuys, CA; Annunciation in Paramus, and Immaculate Heart Academy in Washington Township. She retired in 2006.

Sister Joan was predeceased by her brother, Michael Joseph Davis, and sisters, Margaret Coppla, Patricia Davis, Eileen Vanderbilt, and Mary Sweeney. She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Sister M. Adrienne Fallon, OP

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on March 9 at Saint Catherine of Siena Convent Chapel in Caldwell, NJ, for Sister M. Adrienne Fallon, OP. She died on March 3 at Saint Catherine of Siena Healthcare Center in Caldwell, NJ. Sister Adrienne was 90.

Born in Jersey City to William J. and Rosemary (Flynn) Fallon, she entered the Sisters of Saint Dominic on August 15, 1953, received the habit in 1954, made her first profession in 1955, and her final profession in 1961.

Sister Adrienne earned a BA in French from Caldwell College with a minor in English. She earned certification in elementary and secondary education in religion, received a National Science Foundation grant from Western Maryland College in Westminster, MD, and was given an astronomy grant from the Hayden Planetarium in NYC.

A dedicated and gifted educator, Sister Adrienne taught at the elementary and junior high level at St. Mary, Rutherford; Christ the King, Hillside; St. Aeden, Jersey City; St. Raphael, Livingston; Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Boonton; St. Bridget, North Bergen; St. Peter the Apostle, Parsippany; Holy Spirit, Asbury Park; St. John the Baptist, Jersey City; St. Denis, Manasquan; and St. Elizabeth, Linden.

While caring for her elderly parents, Sister Adrienne was the CCD Coordinator at St. Elizabeth Parish in Whiting. She also served her congregation at Saint Catherine Healthcare Center in Caldwell. Sister Adrienne once shared that “the most precious part of my life was to be a Caldwell Dominican.”

Sister Adrienne was predeceased by her parents, William and Rosemary Fallon, and her siblings, Sister Rose William Fallon, SCC, and Father William John Fallon. She is survived by many cousins.

Sister Carmel Livolsi, OP

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on March 16 at St. Catherine Convent Chapel in Caldwell, NJ, for Sister Carmel Livolsi, OP (Sister Carmel Dominic, OP). She died on March 7 at St. Catherine of Siena Healthcare Center in Caldwell, NJ. Sister Carmel was 99.

Born and raised in Caldwell, NJ, she was the daughter of Michael and Mary (Grasso) Livolsi. She entered the Sisters of Saint Dominic on August 30, 1945, receiving the habit in 1946, making her first profession in 1947 and her final profession in 1953.

Sister Carmel earned an AB in religious studies from Caldwell College and an MA in religious studies from Providence College, Rhode Island. She began her mission-based ministry teaching elementary and junior high students at Saint Catherine, Elizabeth; Saints Peter and Paul, Hoboken; Saint Philomena, Livingston; Saint Aeden, Jersey City; Sacred Heart, Dover; Saint Peter, Parsippany; and Saint Paul, Irvington, where she was also the parish religion coordinator.

For many years, Sister Carmel served the Archdiocese of Newark as Mission Coordinator for the Propagation of the Faith and as the Associate Director of Vocations. Additionally, she worked with the formation team of college seminarians at Seton Hall University, South Orange. She also hosted a scripture-based radio program on WSOU in South Orange.

A woman of deep compassion, Sister Carmel cared for her brother, Sebastian, for many years. She lived her 81 years as a Dominican sister with a grateful and happy heart, always ending her conversations with the words: “I’ve had a good life, thank God.”

Sister Carmel was predeceased by her parents, Michael and Mary Livolsi; her sibling, Sebastian Livolsi; Rev. Sylvester Livolsi; Rose (John) Capozzoli; and Concetta (William) Rizzio. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews.

Sister Antoinette Moore, CSJP

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on March 20 at Saint Michael Villa, Englewood Cliffs, NJ for Sister Antoinette Moore, CSJP. She died peacefully at Villa Marie Claire in Saddle River, NJ, on March 18. Sister Antoinette was 82.

She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Peace at Saint Michael Villa Novitiate, Englewood Cliffs, NJ, on September 12, 1960, and pronounced final vows there in 1968.

Sister Antoinette graduated from Caldwell University with a BS in business administration, and from Saint John’s University in Jamaica, NY, with an MA in psychology and a Ph.D. in psychology. She also held licenses and certifications in clinical psychology and secondary school administration.

As a teacher, she served at Our Lady of Peace in Fords; Saint Anne’s School in Fair Law; Madonna High School in Weirton, WV; Holy Trinity, AL; Immaculate Heart Academy, NJ; Saint John’s University, NY; and as Principal at Immaculate Heart Academy.

Sister Antoinette also worked at Covenant House in NYC as a counselor. Additionally, she ministered by promoting vocations to religious life and the congregation.

Beginning in 2009, she served on the Holy Name Medical Center Board as a Trustee.

Sister Antoinette was predeceased by her brothers, Christopher, Noel, Joseph, and Terrence. She is survived by her brother, Patrick and sisters, Maureen, Teresa Mee, Cecilia and Ann Flynn, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Sister Kathleen Quigley, SC

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on March 12 at Holy Family Chapel in Convent Station, NJ, for Sister Kathleen Quigley SC. She died March 8, 2026, at Complete Care at Saint Vincent’s in Cedar Grove. Sister Kathy would have celebrated her 81st birthday on March 9.

Born in Perth Amboy, she was the daughter of Joseph and Louise (Gadek) Quigley. Sister Kathy entered the Sisters of Charity on September 6, 1963, and was a member for 62 years.

She graduated from the College of Saint Elizabeth, Convent Station, with a BS in biology; from Saint Mary’s College in Winona, MN, with an MA in biology; from Vermont College of Norwich University, Montpelier, VT, with an MA in Social Ministry; and from The Graduate Theological Foundation in Donaldson, IN with a Doctor of Ministry in Spiritual Direction.

Sister Kathy served in Catholic education as a teacher and campus minister. Initially, she was a biology teacher at Marylawn of the Oranges High School in South Orange, NJ. She then taught biology and religion at Immaculate Conception High School in Montclair, NJ. She later returned to Marylawn and then to Immaculate Conception, serving as a campus minister. She also served as the Coordinator of Pastoral Services for the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity and as a chaplain at Saint Joseph’s Health and Rehabilitation Center in Cedar Grove.

Sister Kathy later volunteered in a summer Bible school program in rural Mississippi and then returned to provide spiritual support and direct service to people of all faiths in the area. During her time there, she served as a pastoral associate. She also established a choir and recorded her own original compositions, which she described as a religious experience—a gift from God to invite others to share in the mystery of His love.

Sister Kathy was predeceased by her parents, Louise and Joseph Quigley, and her stepfather, Joseph Knowles. She is survived by her brother Joseph and his wife Nancy, her niece Erin and her husband Christian Wheelock, her niece Annie and her husband Adam Leicher, her nephew Brian and his wife, Valerie, and three grandnieces and one grandnephew.

Father Ronald Regula

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on March 7 at The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus in Wallington, NJ, for Father Ronald Regula. He entered eternal life on February 27. Father Regula was 84.

Born on January 18th, 1942, to Lester and Anna (Bakalarczyk) Regula in Passaic, he was ordained in 1967 at the Immaculate Conception Seminary and continued his studies at Seton Hall University. There, he earned a master’s in counseling and a master’s in divinity.

As a priest of the Archdiocese of Newark, he served in parish ministry and various assignments. However, the majority of his ministerial work was devoted to serving individuals with mental illness, along with their families and caregivers, at the Essex County Hospital Center in Cedar Grove.

Known for being a compassionate listener, Father Regula had a special love for the marginalized and was devoted to social justice throughout his life. He was beloved by his family for his thought-provoking conversations and his gift for being truly present and accepting of others.

Fr. Ronald is survived by his devoted brother and his wife, Richard and Mary Regula, his beloved nieces and nephews, Julie and Glenn, Sarah and Michael, Christine and Robert, Richard and Genevieve, and his great-nephew, Anthony, and great-nieces, Mia and Lucy.
