From the Archives: San Juan Festival in Jersey City, 1974
Five Jersey City parishes sponsored the San Juan Festival honoring St. John the Baptist, patron of Puerto Rico, in June 1974. A hand-carved statue of St. John the Baptist was carried in procession through St. Mary’s Church, followed by music, dancing, and refreshments in a local park.
