Clergy announcements for September 2023

Cardinal Joseph W. Tobin, C.Ss.R., announced the following appointments for September:

Very Reverend Samuel Citero, O. Carm., V.F. has been appointed Dean of Central Bergen Deanery #3, effective Aug. 9, 2023, and ending Aug. 9, 2028.

Very Reverend John D. Gabriel, V.F. has been appointed Dean of Northwest Bergen Deanery #1, effective Aug. 9, 2023, and ending Aug. 9, 2028.

Very Reverend Thomas D. Nicastro, Jr., V.F. has been appointed Dean of North Essex Deanery #16, effective Aug. 15, 2023, and ending Aug. 15, 2028.

Very Reverend James A. Worth, V.F. has been appointed Dean of South Essex Deanery #18, effective Aug. 15, 2023, and ending Aug. 15, 2028.

TEMPORARY ADMINISTRATOR

Father Jason S. Caganap, C.R.M. has been appointed temporary administrator of Saint Joseph, Lodi, effective Aug. 16, 2023.

PAROCHIAL VICAR

Father Jesus Mesias Ramos-Gutierrez has been appointed parochial vicar of Saint Aloysius Parish, Jersey City, effective Sept. 1, 2023.

Father Roberto A. Lamirez has been appointed Spiritual Director for Couples for Christ New Jersey for a period of five years, effective Aug. 17, 2023.

Deacon Roberto Liwanag has been appointed Assistant Director of Formation for the Permanent Diaconate, while remaining a deacon at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Ridgewood, effective Sept. 1, 2023.

Father Anthony J. Palombo has been appointed priest secretary to the Archbishop of Newark, with residence at the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart, effective Oct. 1, 2023 and ending Sept. 30, 2025.

Father Antonio N. Kuizon has been appointed chaplain at Trinitas Hospital, Elizabeth, effective Aug. 28, 2023.

Father Patrick J. Seo has been assigned to residence at Our Lady of Sorrows, South Orange, effective Sept. 1, 2023.
