Clergy announcements for May 2024 

Cardinal Joseph W. Tobin, C.Ss.R., announced the following appointments for May:

PASTORS 

Father Steven D’Andrea has been appointed pastor of Saint Cassian, Upper Montclair,  effective July 1, 2024, and ending June 30, 2030. 

Father Andrew De Silva has been appointed pastor of Saint Peter the Apostle, River Edge,  effective July 1, 2024, and ending June 30, 2030. 

Father Antionio Santana dos Santos, S.A.S. has been appointed pastor of Saint John the  Baptist, Fairview, effective July 1, 2024, and ending June 30, 2030. 

Father Raphael Joonyoung Lee has been appointed pastor of Saint Joseph, Demarest,  effective July 1, 2024, and ending June 30, 2030. 

Father Jason Mantich has been appointed pastor of Our Lady Mother of the Church,  Woodcliff Lake, effective July 1, 2024, and ending June 30, 2030. 

Father Robert McLaughlin has been appointed pastor of Our Lady of Perpetual Help,  Oakland, effective June 25, 2024, and ending June 30, 2030. 

Father Alfie Pangilinan has been appointed pastor of Saint Vincent de Paul, Bayonne, effective July 1, 2024, and ending June 30, 2030. 

Father Cesar Quinones has been appointed pastor of Our Lady of Sorrows and St. Cecelia,  Kearny, effective July 1, 2024, and ending June 30, 2030. 

Father Christian Scalo has been appointed pastor of St. Joseph, Oradell/New Milford,  effective July 1, 2024, and ending June 30, 2030. 

EXTENSION 

Very Reverend Michael Kreder, V.F. has been granted a one-year extension to his pastorate at  Saint Mary, Rutherford, effective July 1, 2024, and ending June 30, 2025. 

Father Minhyun Cho has been granted another term as pastor at Saint Michael, Palisades  Park, effective July 1, 2024, and ending June 30, 2030.

ADMINISTRATOR 

Father Dieunel Jean Paul Victor, S.D.B. has been appointed administrator of Our Lady of the Valley,  Orange, effective July 1, 2024. 

TEMPORARY ADMINISTRATOR 

Father Diego Arce Aricapa has been appointed temporary administrator of Saint Andrew, Westwood,  effective July 1, 2024. 

ARCHDIOCESAN POSITIONS 

Msgr. Joseph R. Chapel will continue his work as Director of Formation for the  Permanent Diaconate on a full-time basis, effective June 30, 2024. 

Msgr. Anthony Ziccardi has been re-appointed Censor Librorum and newly appointed as Chair of the Censores Librorum for the Archdiocese, effective July 1, 2024, and ending June 30, 2029. 

Msgr. Renato Grasselli has been appointed to Censor Librorum of the Archdiocese. Reverend Manuel Duenas has been appointed to Censor Librorum of the Archdiocese. Father Justino Cornejo has been appointed to Censor Librorum of the Archdiocese. Father Joseph R. Laracy has been appointed to Censor Librorum of the Archdiocese. Father Roberto Ortiz has been appointed to Censor Librorum of the Archdiocese.

RELEASE 

Father James E. Starasinich has had his release renewed to the Diocese of Winona-Rochester for three years, ending June 30, 2027. 

RETIREMENT 

Father Mariusz G. Luksza has been granted retirement as of July 1, 2024. Father Aurelio Yanez Gomez has been granted retirement as of June 30, 2024.
