Caldwell University honors distinguished alumni

On Sept. 28, Caldwell University presented the 38th annual June Dwyer Catano Veritas Award to three alumni of the school. The award recognizes Caldwell alumni for “exceptional achievements, contributions to the community and ongoing dedication to the University’s mission of service.”

Among this year’s recipients was Barbara Dolan, Superintendent of Catholic Schools for the Archdiocese of Newark. Dolan earned a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education and religious studies from Caldwell in 1982, later receiving master’s degrees from New Jersey City University and St. Peter’s University. She has devoted her life to Catholic education.

“I am honored and humbled to be the recipient of the June Dwyer Castano Veritas Award,” Dolan told Jersey Catholic. “My time at Caldwell College (now Caldwell University) laid a firm foundation for my ministry in Catholic education and shaped my spirituality. I am deeply grateful for the wisdom, guidance, and encouragement of those who have been part of my journey as a Catholic educator.”

Also honored were Dr. Craig Domanski, a behavior analyst who supports individuals with developmental disabilities, and Tency Eason, a councilwoman serving Orange City Township.
