Archdiocese of Newark clergy personnel announcements for May 2022

Cardinal Joseph W. Tobin, C.Ss.R., announced the following appointments: 

Released

Reverend James V. Teti has been released to the Diocese of Ogdensburg, New York, for a period of three years, effective June 29, 2022.

In Residence

Reverend Francis V. Odoom, a priest of the Archdiocese of Cape Coast, Ghana, has been assigned to residency at Saint Paul, Ramsey, effective July 15, 2022 until October 15, 2022 during his internship with Paulist Press, Mahwah.

Sabbatical

Reverend Andrew Prachar has been granted a sabbatical from July 1, 2022 until December 31, 2022.

Seton Hall University

Reverend Monsignor Gerard H. McCarren has been appointed Interim Rector of Immaculate Conception Seminary at Seton Hall University, South Orange, effective July 1, 2022 to July 1, 2023.

Reverend Monsignor Joseph R. Reilly has been granted a sabbatical for one-year effective July 1, 2022 to July 1, 2023.  As further agreed with Dr. Joseph E. Nyre, President of Seton Hall University, effective July 1, 2023, Monsignor Reilly will be appointed Vice Provost for Academics and Catholic Identity at Seton Hall University, South Orange.

Permanent Deacon

Deacon Andrew Golden has been appointed to the diaconal ministry at the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Newark and Saint Peter the Apostle Parish in River Edge effective immediately.

Deacon Branden Gordon, S.D.B, has been appointed to the diaconal ministry at Our Lady of the Valley Church in Orange.

Ordination

Father Ky Nguyen, S.D.B., was ordained to the presbyterate at Our Lady of the Valley Church in Orange.
