Archdiocese of Newark clergy announcements for January 2023

Cardinal Joseph W. Tobin, C.Ss.R., announced the following appointments for December:

CLERGY ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR JANUARY 2023 ADMINISTRATOR

Very Reverend Herman Kinzler, O. Carm., has been appointed temporary administrator of Saint John the Baptist, Fairview, while remaining pastor of Saint Cecilia, Englewood Cliffs, effective immediately.

Reverend Firmin Khin M. Htwe, S.D.V., has been appointed administrator of Saint Nicholas Parish, Palisades Park, effective Jan. 1, 2023.

Reverend Jimson Varghese, S.D.V., has been appointed administrator of Saint Matthew Parish, Ridgefield, effective Jan. 1, 2023.

PAROCHIAL VICAR

Reverend Octavio Gonzalez Carballo has been appointed parochial vicar of Blessed Sacrament Parish, Elizabeth, effective Feb. 1, 2023.

Reverend Wilson A. Paculan has been appointed temporary parochial vicar of Saint Thomas the Apostle Parish, Bloomfield, effective Jan. 1, 2023.

CHAPLAIN

Reverend Michael Trainor has been appointed Police Chaplain, South Hackensack Police Department, South Hackensack, effective immediately.

DEACON

Deacon Michael Cavallo has been given an additional assignment in the Diocese of Saint Augustine, at Corpus Christi Parish, Saint Augustine, effective Jan. 1, 2023.

RENEWALS

Reverend Monsignor Ronald Rozniak has been granted a one-year extension to his pastorate at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Ridgewood, ending June 30, 2024.

RESIDENCE

Reverend Jaroslaw Zaniewski has been assigned residency at Saint Paul Parish, Ramsey, effective December 5, 2022.
