Sights & Sounds: Cathedral Basilica welcomes thousands for 54th Candlelight Carol Sing
On Dec. 17 and 18, the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Newark welcomed thousands of visitors for this year’s Candlelight Carol Sing, filling the cathedral with music, prayer, and the joy of the Christmas season. Performed by the Cathedral Basilica Choir, nearly 20 beloved carols resonated throughout the historic space, accompanied by a world-class pipe organ and instrumental ensemble.
One of the evening’s most moving moments came during Silent Night, when more than 1,300 candles illuminated the cathedral’s soaring architecture, creating an atmosphere of profound peace and reverence.
