Sights & Sounds: Kids celebrate their First Holy Communions
In April and May, boys and girls across the Archdiocese of Newark celebrated a special moment in their lives, receiving their First Holy Communions at their local parishes.
Saint Peter Julian Eymard, who founded the Society of the Blessed Sacrament in 1856, once said, “The Eucharist is the supreme proof of the love of Jesus. After this, there is nothing more but heaven itself.”
The joy that comes from receiving the body and blood of Christ is clear when looking upon the smiling faces of this year’s first communicants.
