Sights & Sounds: Autumn beauty surrounds the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart

As days grow shorter and colder during the later months of the year, one compensation is the beauty of autumn foliage.

At the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Newark, the trees around the magnificent structure and in nearby Branch Brook Park seem to sing out to God in praise with their color and vibrancy.

Leaves change from green to shades of red, yellow, orange, and brown, bringing these words of St. Augustin of Hippo to mind:

“We look upon the heavens and earth, and they cry aloud that they were made. For they change and vary.” – St. Augustine of Hippo
