From the archives — Queenship of Mary
Young women formed a living rosary at the 1954 Marian Year Youth Rally for Peace at Roosevelt Stadium in Jersey City. The rally was one of the largest religious demonstrations ever staged in North Jersey, with more than 30,000 young people. 300 girls formed the cross at the center of the living rosary, while 240 girls formed the beads and fifty blue-caped student nurses formed the medallion as they encircled the area where statues of the Blessed Mother were enshrined.
