From the Archives: Parishioner scores “first” goal at World Cup, 1994

A parishioner of Notre Dame in North Caldwell scored the “first” goal of the 1994 World Cup at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford. Alex Krasnomowitz, CPA, was involved with the venue as a volunteer and attended a press conference shortly after the goal cages were installed. He took the opportunity to kick the first goal, which was captured by photographers at the press conference and later covered in the Catholic Advocate.
