Faithful invited to join Pope, Cardinal in act of consecration

On Friday, March 25, Pope Francis will preside in Saint Peter’s Basilica in Rome during which he will consecrate and entrust Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Cardinal Joseph W. Tobin, C.Ss.R., Archbishop of Newark, will join in the consecration via video available here on Friday at 1:30 p.m. EDT.

The faithful are invited to join in this Act by assembling in churches or places of prayer so that “God’s Holy People may raise a heartfelt and choral plea to Mary our Mother” (Pope Francis).

The Act of Consecration is available in: English | Italian | Polish | Portuguese | Spanish | Vietnamese

The prayer can be recited throughout the day at gatherings of people, during or following devotions or liturgies, or during Mass after the Prayer after Communion. It may be prayed throughout the day and not necessarily at 1:30 p.m. View the prayer here.

For those who wish to help support the people of Ukraine, a list of Catholic agencies providing relief is available here.

If you wish to join Pope Francis in prayer during this special day, EWTN will broadcast this Act here beginning at Noon EDT.
