Parishes and schools observe Ash Wednesday (Photos)
Parishes and Catholic schools across the Archdiocese of Newark marked the beginning of Lent with Ash Wednesday Masses, inviting the faithful into a time of prayer and reflection. Churches were adorned in purple as priests distributed ashes, tracing the sign of the cross on the foreheads of parishioners and students as a visible reminder of repentance, prayer, fasting, and almsgiving.
