Young Catholics embrace Christ through First Holy Communion
In April and May, parishes and schools across the Archdiocese of Newark celebrated a significant event for young Catholics — First Communion.
Catholics aged seven and eight receive the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ for the first time in the sacrament of First Communion. During First Communion ceremonies, children dressed in suits and white dresses partake in this sacred ritual. Family and friends often gather to celebrate this significant milestone.
