Three Kings lead us to the conclusion of Christmas: Parishes celebrate Feast of the Epiphany (Photos/ video)

On the first Sunday after Jan. 1, parishes around the Archdiocese of Newark concluded the Christmas season with the Feast of the Epiphany. The Epiphany celebrates the revelation to the Three Wise Men that Jesus was the Son of God, while also celebrating Jesus’ baptism in the Jordan and the wedding at Cana.

Some parishes reenacted the adoration of the Magi, with a few even including camels in the procession. In Montclair, the Catholic community held its first ever Three Kings Day parade. Others finished the Christmas season with a concert – like the joint effort between the parish choirs of St. Teresa of Avila in Summit and St. Joseph in Maplewood. Catholic schools also got involved in the pageantry with students dressing up as kings and participating in the Epiphany Mass.

Take a look at the various ways parishes celebrated the Epiphany below.
