Pray the Rosary for Healing for Child Abuse Awareness Month (Video)

In April, the Archdiocese of Newark welcomes the faithful to pray the rosary in recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month.

The faithful can join Bishop Elias Lorenzo, O.S.B., auxiliary bishop of Union County, victim-survivors, and certified Virtus ® Empowering God’s Children facilitators in the archdiocese Protection of the Faithful safeguarding programs in the prayers and contemplation on five rosary mysteries.

The rosary video, produced last year, opens with a Prayer for Healing by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). The five Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary follow, with each mystery introduced by Bishop Lorenzo. The bishop also includes a powerful message against sexual abuse. The rosary concludes with a Litany for Hope and Healing read by Karen Clark, director of the Archdiocese’s Department for the Protection of the Faithful.

Bishop Lorenzo also emphasizes the archdiocese’s commitment to creating safe environments in parishes and schools, and eliminating child abuse in our families, our Church, and society at large.

Gina Criscuolo, LCSW, of the Department for the Protection of the Faithful; Father Andy Prachar; Joel Gomez; Cathy Drake; and Cassandra Bossquet are also featured in the video.
