From the Archives: Women’s History Month, 1959
In 1959, the College of St. Elizabeth in Convent Station was awarded a National Science Foundation grant to support an undergraduate research program for isolating antibiotics for cancer chemotherapy. Students Karen O’Sullivan and Frances Lordi are pictured working under the direction of Sister Anna Catherine Lawlor, S.C., chair of the Biology Department.
