First Communion and Confirmation celebrated around the Archdiocese of Newark (Photos)

In late April and throughout the month of May, parishes around the Archdiocese of Newark observed two joyful and significant moments in church life: the holy sacraments of First Communion and Confirmation.

During First Communion, churches were filled with smiling relatives, watching on as children in suits and white dresses received the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ for the first time. And in Confirmation, candidates were sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit and welcomed into a deeper communion with the Church.
