Mercy House Mothers Day event

Sights & Sounds: Celebrating Mother’s Day with The Mercy House

Recognizing their “selfless love,” The Mercy House distributed a variety of gifts this week to moms in need. Purses, sunhats, costume jewelry, and other items donated by parishes and individuals were given to around 300 area mothers to show appreciation for the sacrifices they regularly make for their children.

“It’s fitting that The Mercy House celebrates Mother’s Day because May is the month of Mary, our Blessed Mother,” said director Cheryl A. Riley.

Founded in 2018, The Mercy House provides nonperishable food, baby supplies, and other items to anyone in need. They also offer support for anyone searching for a job or place to live. Three Mercy House locations serve about 300 people each week.
