Seton Hall marks 15th annual Christmas Tree Lighting
Hundreds gathered at Seton Hall University’s South Orange campus to mark its 15th annual Christmas at the Hall celebration featuring its beloved Tree Lighting Ceremony on the University Green on Dec. 3, 2024. The evening was filled with holiday cheer, live performances from campus groups, and opportunities for giving.
The celebration began with a 5 p.m. Mass in the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception, celebrated by Monsignor Joseph R. Reilly, University President, and concelebrated by Father several university priests. The Nativity Blessing followed this at the campus Crèche.
The highlight of the evening came with the traditional Christmas Tree Lighting. The ceremony included hot cocoa and candy canes, Santa hats and a special prayer to bless the tree and all those in attendance. Cheers erupted as the tree illuminated, kicking off a dazzling finale of snow machines, a synchronized light show, and the Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s “Carol of the Bells.”
