All Souls Memorial Concert

FreeOn Sunday, November 3, 2024, a date designated as Cemetery Sunday, Catholic Cemeteries, Archdiocese of Newark, invites you to celebrate your faith in eternal life by visiting one of our cemeteries in a spirit of faith, prayer, and remembrance. Catholic cemeteries are fitting places to visit – to pray, remember, grieve, heal, and console one another. It is important always to remember and to give thanks for Jesus’ promise of eternal life, which is at the heart of our Catholic faith. Following your visit to the cemetery, you are invited to A Memorial Concert in Honor of the Faithfully Departed at 3 pm in the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart, Newark. (89 Ridge Street). This concert titled, “Requiem,” by Michael John Trotta, will feature a performance by The Cathedral Choir, Soloists, Orchestra, John Miller-Conductor, and Chung A. Hong-organist. The concert is intended to provide comfort and consolation for all who have lost a loved one. Anita Foley will present a brief pre-concert lecture to the bereaved at 2:20 pm in the Lady Chapel in the Cathedral. Upon entering the Cathedral Basilica, guests are invited to inscribe the names of their beloved deceased in a Book of Remembrance.
